In the latest Media Update, AfriSam, a leading construction materials company, has announced that it completed and held a ceremonial handover of the 15 new homes to differently-abled and youth-headed household beneficiaries. This was in partnership with the Department of Mineral Resource and Energy (DMRE), Department of Human Settlements, the Department of Health and Social Development and the City of Ekurhuleni (COE).
AfriSam says that this initiative shows its commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of communities, dedication to creating sustainable solutions and improving the quality of life for those most in need.
The houses, located in Mackenzieville in the City of Ekurhuleni, were built to provide a safe and accessible living space for those with special needs, who often face challenges in their daily lives, the company adds.
The houses are built and modified with special features specifically to cater to beneficiaries with unique abilities. They were built to meet the needs of the identified beneficiaries to make them comfortable and provide a sense of belonging in the community of Mackenzieville.
